Caught the camping bug

Matilda loved her trip to the heart of our wide brown land with Mum, Dad, Nan and Papa.

Matilda got her African animals a little confused at the zoo. Apparently Elephants are the new roaring kings! She loved all of the animals, especially crawling around in goat poo in the children's petting zoo- a real highlight! Good one Bird!

Happy Birthday to You!!!

What a day. It certainly was Good Friday! The big day came and went with huge amounts of excitement. We had an early start (6:15) and eagerly got into the present opening. At 7:00 the dogs started barking and we had visitors, Nan and Papa had caught the bus up to be with Me on my birthday. I got some lovely things- thankyou everyone, we had a small party at home, but I was so tired, we cut the cake early and I went to bed!! Mum and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa had a really good time. Our dugout looked like a fairy castle. We had balloons and butterflies hanging from the roof, and it was magical. I liked grabbling them and pulling them down (with pieces of the roof!). Mum made a butterfly cake and it was really yummy!!!Here are a few photos of the day. We also went out looking for zebra rocks. I found a special one, which will be my pet rock, reminding me of my 1st birthday in Coober Pedy.

We've finally created a blog as a part of Matilda's first birthday celebrations so you can share in her milestones with us. We'll put a few old favourite pics on here to begin with, but look forward to showing you some new ones as the news breaks!

This one is one of our favourite shots. It's so nice to look back at 12 months of photos and see just how far Matilda has come and how it's changed us both. She has brought so much joy to us, and continues to amaze us each day. She is turning into a real "Tilly Bird," full of personality.
